The 2024 Calgary Comic Expo kicked off in spectacular fashion on Friday morning with the highly anticipated Parade of Wonders. Fans from all over flocked to Stampede Park to witness the colorful and exciting event, which marks the beginning of a weekend filled with celebrity appearances, cosplay, and all things geeky.

The Parade of Wonders, which started at 10:30 a.m. at 8 Street and 8 Avenue SW, saw thousands of superheroes, villains, and characters marching their way to Olympic Plaza for the opening ceremony at 11:15 a.m. The atmosphere was electric as fans cheered on their favorite characters and celebrities.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with celebrity Q&As, autograph signings, photo ops, cosplays, comics, anime, and more on the agenda. Notable guests such as Todd McFarlane, Matthew Lillard, Neve Campbell, and Gina Carano are set to make appearances, much to the delight of fans.

The Parade of Wonders also saw some of the celebrity guests being honored with the traditional white hat ceremony, a symbol of Calgary’s hospitality. Among those who received the royal treatment were John Rhys Davies, Ashley Eckstein, Skeet Ulrich, and many more.
