HarperCollins Publishers Announces Jules Feiffer’s First Graphic Novel for Young Readers

Renowned cartoonist and writer Jules Feiffer is set to release his first graphic novel for young readers, titled Amazing Grapes, on September 24. The middle grade adventure follows a family on a mission to save another dimension while searching for their mother.

Feiffer, a Pulitzer Prize winner and Academy Award recipient, expressed his excitement for writing for young readers, stating that it allows him to connect with a part of himself that he didn’t know how to express until later in life. He credits children’s books and comics for helping him navigate his own childhood experiences.

Having made his debut in children’s books in 1961 with The Phantom Tollbooth, Feiffer has a long history in the genre. His collaboration with editor Michael di Capua has produced many beloved children’s titles, including the bestselling Bark, George.

Di Capua praised Feiffer’s latest work, stating that at 95 years old, the cartoonist is still breaking new ground with Amazing Grapes. The graphic novel is expected to captivate young readers with Feiffer’s signature blend of humor and imagination.

Fans of Feiffer’s work and newcomers alike can look forward to the release of Amazing Grapes this fall, as the acclaimed cartoonist continues to inspire and entertain readers of all ages.
