MegaCon 2025 Dates Announced, Coinciding with Superbowl and San Diego Comic-Con’s Cruise Ship Event

MegaCon 2025 Dates Announced and Facing Competition from Comic-Con: The Cruise

The biggest comic convention in the Southeastern United States, MegaCon, is currently taking place in Orlando, Florida. With an estimated attendance of nearly 160,000, the convention is a staple in the Florida event scene. Popverse has reporters on-site at the event, and the biggest news to come out of MegaCon so far is the announcement of the dates for next year’s event.

MegaCon 2025 is scheduled to take place from February 6 through 9, which is earlier in the year compared to previous years. Despite the early timing, the convention organizers are confident that the weather in Orlando will still be favorable for attendees.

However, MegaCon 2025 will face stiff competition as it coincides with both the 2025 Superbowl in New Orleans and Comic-Con International: San Diego’s Comic-Con: The Cruise event. The latter, organized by the team behind San Diego Comic Con, will be a five-day event aboard a cruise ship departing from Tampa to Cozumel and back.

This scheduling conflict presents a dilemma for fans, vendors, and guests who typically attend MegaCon. They will have to choose between the familiar and massive MegaCon in Orlando or the allure of a San Diego Comic-Con sized event that is conveniently located in nearby Tampa.

MegaCon is part of Informa’s Fan Expo portfolio of conventions, which hosts over a dozen events annually in North America. Stay tuned to Popverse for more updates on upcoming pop culture events and releases.
