Introducing Tiny Onion: James Tynion IV Launches New Multimedia Production Company

James Tynion IV, the acclaimed comic book author behind hits like Something is Killing the Children and The Department of Truth, has announced the launch of his new independent multimedia production company, Tiny Onion. This new venture will be active across various industries including publishing, film, television, and animation.

Tynion expressed his excitement about the launch, stating, “I have the chance to take everything I’ve learned and test out every way to make it work even better. Not just for me, but for the generation of creators coming up behind me.” Backed by a seed investment from production company Lyrical Media, Tiny Onion will manage much of Tynion’s intellectual property and is already developing several properties for the screen.

One of the projects in the works is an adaptation of Tynion’s popular comic series, The Department of Truth, in collaboration with Sister as executive producer. UTA will represent Tiny Onion in media rights, helping the production company expand its producing profile across film and television.

In the comics space, Tiny Onion is assembling a full-service independent editorial and design team to identify creative partners and elevate their work. While not operating as a publisher itself, the company will work with various publishers such as BOOM! Studios, Dark Horse Comics, DSTLRY, and Image Comics to bring curated and packaged titles to the industry.

With five Eisner Awards under his belt, Tynion is a well-respected figure in the comic book world, known for his work on the Batman franchise, The Nice House on the Lake, and various independent series. His new venture, Tiny Onion, is set to make a significant impact on the entertainment industry with its innovative approach to storytelling and creative collaboration.
