DC and Marvel to Reprint Their Iconic Crossover Event Comics

Reprinting Marvel and DC Crossover Comics: DC vs. Marvel and The Amalgam Age Omnibuses Coming Soon

After over two decades, DC and Marvel are finally reissuing their iconic crossover comics in two massive hardcover omnibuses. Fans of both comic book giants can rejoice as these beloved crossovers, including the ’90s DC Versus Marvel event and the Amalgam universe, will be available once again this summer.

DC President Jim Lee has illustrated new covers for both omnibuses, marking his return to drawing Marvel characters in an official capacity after many years. The covers, which are Direct Market exclusives, showcase the epic clash between the two comic book universes.

The DC Versus Marvel Omnibus will feature classic matchups like Superman versus Spider-Man and Batman versus Captain America, along with other iconic crossovers between the core characters of both publishers. The collection includes stories from renowned talents such as Dennis O’Neil, George Pérez, Chris Claremont, and more, making it a must-have for fans of both DC and Marvel.

On the other hand, the DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age Omnibus will revisit the 1996 fusion of the two superhero universes into the Amalgam Universe. This unique crossover resulted in one-shot comic books featuring characters like Dark Claw (Batman and Wolverine) and Super Soldier (Superman and Captain America). The omnibus will include the original DC Versus Marvel series, as well as follow-up one-shots and behind-the-scenes material, offering fans a nostalgic trip down memory lane.

While the JLA/Avengers crossover, arguably the most famous of all Marvel and DC crossovers, is not included in these omnibuses, fans can still hope for a deluxe edition in the future. For now, the DC Versus Marvel and DC/Marvel: The Amalgam Age omnibuses are set to release on August 6, 2024, giving fans a chance to relive the epic battles and team-ups between their favorite superheroes.
