C2E2’s 15th annual event debuts at McCormick Place on Friday

Celebrating 15 Years of Pop Culture at C2E2 2023

The 15th annual Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) is set to kick off this weekend at McCormick Place, and fans are in for a treat with a star-studded lineup and a variety of exciting events.

Actor Josh Brolin, known for his roles in films like “Avengers: Endgame” and “Deadpool 2,” will headline the event alongside stars from popular shows such as “Ted Lasso,” “One Tree Hill,” “Rick and Morty,” and “One Piece.” Additionally, the convention will feature a packed schedule of celebrity panels, cast reunions, and a bustling Artist Alley filled with both local and big-name comic-book creators.

According to Chris D’Lando, event manager at ReedPop, which organizes C2E2, the event is a celebration of all things pop culture. With something for everyone, whether you’re a fan of comics, celebrities, gaming, anime, or anything in between, C2E2 promises to be a weekend to remember.

In addition to the main attractions, the Cosplay Central Crown Championships will see regional champions from other comic conventions competing for the U.S. title and a shot at the global crown. The convention will also mark its 15th anniversary with special merchandise and a “fantasy-themed prom” on Friday night.

As C2E2 continues to grow in size and popularity, its economic impact on the city of Chicago is also on the rise. This year, the event is projected to generate $39 million for the city, showcasing the significant influence of pop culture events like C2E2.

While some ticket options are already sold out, C2E2 has partnered with local comic book shops to offer additional tickets for those still hoping to attend. For those unable to make it in person, membership to PopVerse allows access to select panels and events from the weekend online.

With a focus on staying at the cutting edge of pop culture and constantly evolving and improving the show, C2E2 promises to be a weekend filled with fun and excitement for fans of all ages. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of comics, celebrities, and all things pop culture at C2E2 this weekend.
