New Comic Series: Universal Monsters – Creature From The Black Lagoon Lives!

Skybound Entertainment, the company behind The Walking Dead and Invincible comics, is bringing the iconic Creature from the Black Lagoon to the world of comics in a new limited series titled Universal Monsters: Creature From The Black Lagoon Lives! The four-issue series, written by Dan Watters and Ram V, is set to hit comic shops on April 24.

The story, not an adaptation of the 1954 classic film, is a modern-day tale of suspense and terror that introduces new characters while connecting to the original movie. Journalist Kate Marsden finds herself hunting a notorious serial killer in the heart of the Amazon, only to encounter the unexpected threat of the Creature from the Black Lagoon.

Skybound is positioning the series for both new readers and longtime fans, with editorial director Alex Antone praising the exciting writing talent behind the project. Each book in the Universal Monsters line will bring a unique flavor to the iconic horror characters, with Creature being a brand-new story featuring the beloved Gill-Man.
